On Friday evening, the 31st birthday of actor, singer, and Rare Beauty founder Selena Gomez was celebrated with a surprise, celeb-filled bash at a private residence in Malibu. Gomez—a Cancer, for those wondering—was surrounded by her closest friends and fellow entertainment industry darlings.
While Gomez didn’t initially know what the night had in store, she still dressed in a dazzling red leather embellished strapless mini dress from Bottega Veneta and Magda Butryum sandals styled by Dominic J. West. The glamorous surprise was planned by her closest friends, who sprinkled several special touches personal to the starlet into the night. Inside the sparkling cream-curtain-covered walls of the private Malibu mansion, festivities kicked off with a live DJ set from Ramsey Austin, an SG monogrammed photo booth, and a never-ending selection of Gomez’s favorite customized Shake Shack burgers. Notable attendees included Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Karol G, Saweetie, Diplo, Tiffany Haddish, Pia Mia, Sabrina Claudio, Benny Blanco, YG, Tyga, and many more.
Partygoers sang along with singer Sabrina Claudio as they serenaded the birthday girl and presented her with a red rose-covered birthday cake decorated in sparklers (which perfectly matched her statement dress). The celebration continued with a surprise performance from Diplo, ringing in Gomez’s 31st year in true Leo-rising fashion.
To talk about the 2022 Met Gala , many people will probably only use one word to comment: Bland.
